Mineral Makeup

A makeup that's been around for 30 years is taking the cosmetics, fashion and film industries by storm is called Mineral Makeup!  Here are the benefits of mineral makeup...

Lots of women struggle with acne, allergies, dryness and clogged pores from unfriendly commercial makeup,. Mineral makeup lets you enhance skin care with positive beauty choices, not create more problems.

Most makeup does not suit sensitive or raw skin especially after a laser procedure or a peel, and will irritate your face. But, mineral makeup will not. Mineral makeup is absolutely free from irritating talcs, fragrances, preservatives, alcohol, dyes or aluminum.

Mineral makeup is a great alternative for chemical makeup. Using pure natural mineral makeup every time will make a huge difference to your skin.

For some women, traditional makeup, often heavier, can feel like a mask. Mineral makeup's texture is lighter and different. Even with more coverage, experts say you'll see a natural, translucent radiance and more of your skin, which can breathe.

It does not enhance wrinkles like traditional powders. "If you have fine lines or crow's-feet, traditional makeup can cake in those places, often creating an illusion of deeper lines. Minerals create real health and a glow like we had in our teens and 20s through essential vitamins, antioxidants and ingredients that actually hydrate the skin and conceal wrinkles.

Mineral makeup helps protect skin from sun. The sun is said to be the number-one aging agent. Mineral makeup's zinc oxide offers natural UVA-UVB protection.

Mineral makeup is safe enough to be used after laser procedures and chemical peels.  Minerals are the natural choice to calm and soothe red, bruised, itchy, inflamed and flaking skin. This product hides imperfections, then camouflages with minerals that actually block the sun, which is crucial after aggressive treatments. Minerals cool the skin and encourage faster healing.

You can sleep in it! You can actually sleep with your makeup on if you need to. If you have to be up early, You can apply it the night before. Plus, you know that if you work out or have a long night,  mineral makeup, which lasts longer than traditional makeup, is absolutely going to be there.

Makes skin look better. The old makeup phrase "putting on your face" may soon be obsolete. It can look and feel like you're wearing nothing at all, like a silky top layer of your very own skin.

Expert Makeup Tips

Tip # 1 How To Make Kohl eyeliner Last All Day!

To prevent the Kohl from dissolving in a pool of sweat or tears, apply a layer of foundation before applying the Kohl. On top of this a brush of dark eye shadow and then a liquid Kohl. This makes for an intense, dramatized look as well long lasting eye makeup.

Tip #2 What to do when you have applied too much lipstick.

You're all set to leave, but you feel you've got a lipstick overdose? Too much lipstick can make you look, well, not like a movie star but rather like a joker. When this happens, don't attempt to rub it off with tissue or cotton, as this can leave the lips very dry and not even receptive to another application of lipstick. What you want to do is apply moisturizer to your lips, leave it for a couple of minutes and blot it off. Then apply a more neutral shade.

Tip #3 Overcoming a prominate nose.

Many of us have nose problems. If it's either too big or long here are a couple of things you can do :

Make-Up:
Create nose-shrinking shadows. Even if you don't use any other makeup, apply some blush in the middle of your forehead. If your nose shines out then use a concealer, slightly darker than your skin tone, on it. Some experts suggest that you use the concealer on skin just outside your nose. Try both and see which suits you best.

Tip #4 How to conceal blemishes.

Blemishes like acne scars, pigmented (dark) patches, pits in the skin or dark under-eye patches can be concealed with make-up (use concealers that are available in stick, cake and cream options). Here is how:

  •  To hide acne pits, apply cream or cake-type concealer into the pits, using a fine brush. The concealer should be one shade lighter than the foundation.

  •  To hide dark patches, use a concealer that is one or two shades lighter than the foundation. After concealing, apply normal foundation all over the face and neck.

  •  To conceal dark under-eye circles, it is best to use a foundation and conceal it with a light-toned concealer. Dilute the concealer with a drop of water before applying. Heavy use of concealers can show up lines and wrinkles, so go easy.

If you can't get hold of a good concealer, use foundation instead. In other words, you will need two shades of foundation. One should be close to your skin tone and the other a shade or two lighter. Use the lighter-colored one for concealing.

Perfect make-up is the outcome of trial and error. So keep experimenting till you get it right.

Tip #5 What to do when your beautician messes up your eyebrows.

Has your beautician messed up your eyebrows? Here's a way out.

. Brush the brows straight up with a dry toothbrush, with an eyebrow pencil.
. Draw short, feathery strokes on the hairs around the sparse areas.
. Use an eye-shadow, which matches your brows to make the desired shape.
. Press some powder lightly onto the area.
. Then brush them back to their natural shape.

Apply eye creams and moisturizers before foundation. The eye area especially is the first place foundation tends to crease. Mixing a few drops of shimmer lotion into liquid foundation gives a subtle gleam. For even coverage, apply foundation with a slightly damp sponge, or foundation brush. For maximum coverage, creme covers best. For medium to sheer coverage, try liquid foundations. For maximum versatility, try wet/dry compact makeup. Avoid creme or moisture-rich foundations if your skin is oily. Sheer foundation is best for blemished, or freckle lined skin. Acne prone skin should avoid compact foundations, the sponge grabs' bacteria's and they breed in that closed dark space. A heavy base can accentuate pimples and wrinkles. After foundation, and before powder, simulate fresh, natural flushed cheeks with a gel blush color.Recipe for Tinted Moisturizer: Make your own by mixing one part foundation with two parts moisturizer in the palm of your hand, then apply. Too red or too sallow? Correct natural skin tone under color with tinted primer. Use mint-green to neutralize redness or blotchiness. Use violet to neutralize yellow tones. White primer will neutralize all tones to give skin a porcelain pale finish. Bronzing powder can help tone down ruddy, uneven coloring skin tones, or rosacea. When applying concealer use a small nylon brush-a natural brush will soak up the concealer. A nylon brush helps blend in evenly without smearing.

Toss unused mascara after 3 months. Don’t apply mascara sitting in a moving vehicle. Avoid infections. Don’t share your mascara! churn mascara around in the vial, it brings in more air to dry out the formula. Remove mascara before bedtime to prevent lashes from drying out and breaking. Keep smudges minimal by first lightly wiping mascara wand with tissue when you remove it from the vial. Wait a few seconds between coats. And reapply as desired. Also look for a mascara wand with ridges rather than bristles.  Have fun in the sun, but protect your skin.

Choose The Right Foundation

Choosing the right foundation can be especially problematic. Getting the makeup to match your natural skin tone can seem nearly impossible. Most women will need a foundation that has either neutral or cooler undertones. Those warm, honey colors may look tempting in the bottle but they can make your complexion appear unnatural.

A few women have warm undertones to their skin. These women often have red hair and look best in clothes
that are golden or yellow based. They can wear warm gold and apple green chartreuse without their pores glowing a sickly hue. They even get compliments when wearing the colors that most women avoid at all costs.

Matching a foundation closely to your skin tone is fairly simple. Apply a small dab to the underside of your forearm or the back of your hand and blend it in well. If the edges fade seamlessly into your bare skin and the covered skin appears natural yet flawless, you've found your match! When applying the foundation to your face, be sure to blend it into your jaw line and neck. You may even want to apply the foundation to the back of your neck if you are planning on wearing your hair up or have a shorter hairstyle. Don't forget to blend well around your hairline and ears as well to provide a natural looking finish.
